I call this cycle “Ultimate” because I am damn happy with how it came out. It is a 28-day repeatable cycle that takes the bland and boring 5x5 program and smashes it into bits, leaving you with something a bit more engaging and enjoyable to work with.

Over the years I’ve put together more than a few longer cycles. 12, 16, even 26 weeks. With this bench press builder, I wanted something that would really push you hard for four weeks - perhaps to overreaching - and then back off two weeks.
